National Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center



One of the main reasons (to some the only reason) for the visit to the Air and Space Museum was of course so the veterans of the 39th could see the Enola Gay reassembled in one piece - in years past the nose section was the only part on display.

From the combat crew to ground crew - each man considered the crew's assigned B-29 as "their" B-29 which they loved dearly only second to their spouses or girlfriends they left back home.
