DISTINGUISHED
SERVICE AWARD
is awarded to
James and Betty Wyckoff
(1990-2006)
James
and Betty Wyckoff are hereby presented this award for
outstanding service in the establishment and preservation
of the 39th Bomb Group. The problems confronted in locating
members and preparation of the first of the first "reunion"
must have been most difficult. To keep in touch with
just a few was trying in those early years let alone
forty years more.
It's
easy to say, "why don't we all meet?" Jim
did something about it. The only fault is that he didn't
do it decades earlier. We could have had the additional
pleasure of those lost in contact and those "lost"
in death.
We
the members of the 39th Bomb Group will ever be indebted
to you for knowing there are others who care more
than we do and took the extra step to make it all
possible. If anyone deserves a page in our history
, it is you for giving us years of "great pleasure"
in our annual "get-togethers"
