"Memorial" by definition according to Webster's Dictionary - "something intended to preserve a person or event in the people's memory"; "said or done in remembrance, commemorative."

Inasmuch as this web site itself is a type of memorial to honor the veterans of the 39th Bomb Group who returned home and those that gave their lives in service to our country contained in this section are photos submitted by veterans of this group of various memorials throughout our land that honor Veterans of World War II that returned and those that did not!
