Revised: 4 June 2009
We apologize for the schedule change but the hotel has notified us that they have a wedding reception scheduled for the Saturday night of our reunion that has been schedued (a year in advance) - even though the hotel knew of our planned Saturday Night Banquet from our inital contact with them - we were just notified of the conflict - so since we are more flexible that a wedding reception our Saturday's Events (Country Music Hall of Fame Tour/WWII Memorial Tour & banquet) will be ON FRIDAY. Friday's Events - Andrew Jackson Home Tour and Grand Ole Opry with back stage tour will now be ON SATURDAY.
We wanted to make you aware of this in case you are planning any side tours of your own around our planned reunion events.

Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
WWII Memorial
|
At the County Music Hall of Fame and Museum the group will enjoy wonderful displays, hands-on exhibits and musical presentations that portray country music from its early day roots up to its present day popularity.
The Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park is located in the shadow of the State Capitol in downtown Nashville. The 19-acre park is designed to complement the Tennessee Capitol Building, give visitors a taste of Tennessee's history and natural wonders, and to serve as a lasting monument to Tennessee's Bicentennial celebration.
The World War II Memorial was dedicated on November 11, 1997. It features an 18,000 lb. granite globe floating on 1/8 inch of water. The countries on the globe are as they were during the war. There is a small map of Tennessee with lines showing the mileage to different theatres of war. Visitors may stop the globe and turn it with their hands.
There is a bench that lists the seven Congressional Medal of Honor winners from Tennessee. A time capsule will be opened on November 11, 2045 and contains lists of donors, persons that served, and a separate list of the Tennesseans that served and were killed in combat

The Hermitage is the most authentic early presidential home in America, where you'll be a honored guest in the Jackson family mansion, the formal garden, slave quarters, and the original log cabin the Jacksons occupied in 1804. Their 1,100-acre plantation was once home to 150 enslaved African Americans who worked the farm, cultivated the gardens, tended livestock, baled cotton, cared for the home and its guests, and met countless other needs of the plantation.
Since 1889, The Hermitage has been run by the Ladies Hermitage Association and is funded only by ticket, sales, donations, and grants. It receives no ongoing state or federal money.
