Lt Colonel John E. Condron 

John E. Condron joined the 39th Bomb Group in July 1945 replacing Lt. Colonel Campbell Weir as the Group Executive Officer.

He came to Guam from Okinawa where he was assigned to the 10th Army G-2 Section in charge of Future Operations. He was sent to the late- General Buckner's staff upon completion of the 5-month-course at the Army-Navy Staff College in Washington D. C. in January 1945 (along with fellow classmate) Colonel George W. Mundy (39th BG (VH) CO).

He was a Reserve Officer called to active duty in 1935 for a tour of duty with the Civilian Conservation Corps. In 1940, he was assigned to the Air Corps where his experience ranged from six weeks in the Aleutians to landing in France on D-Day plus 3 with the Headquarters of the Allied Expeditionary Air Forces.

Lt. Colonel was married with 1 daughter and 1 son during his time on Guam. They resided in Glen Head, New York.
