John Ellsworth Leckron was born in Franklin County, PA. the son of Nelson R. and Lillian C. Leckron.

He was president of Bonded Applicators of Maryland, a Haggerstown-based business and vice president of McCelland Enterprises, Inc.

He served on three member board of Public Works for the city of Hagerstown since April 1, 1973, serving under two administrations. The board supervises several city departments including the police, fire, light, signal and streets departments.

WWII Enlistment Records show that Mr. Leckron's date of enlistment was 14 Oct 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland.


John E. Leckron took his final flight on 15 June 1976 as a result of a massive heart attack at the age of 54 yrs. Burial was at Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line, PA.
