Updates:

11 August 2016 - Received an email from Adam Braver, grandson of 1st Lt Philip Schild, Pilot of P17 stating that the nick name of P-17 "Betty Marian" was named his mother (the daughter of 1st Lt Schild). In the original group's history "History of the 39th BG WWII" by Bob Laird (P-5) and Dave Smith (Repl P-31) it states the nick name of Crew 17's plane was after Airplane Commander's mother. In checking the obituary of Donald Barton, it states that his mother's name was Ethel. Thank you to Adam for this bring this to our attention.
