Sebestian A. Thomas (Thomasulo during service years) was a member of the Headquarters and Base Squadron - 31st Service Group, one of the four Service Groups stationed at North Field. Gaum. The others were the 69th, 89th and 90th.

Thomas was sent over-seas as a radio operator but inasmuch as there was a Signa1 Corps unit already stationed there., his services in that capacity were not needed. So, after some preliminary assignments Thomas found himself in the sheet metal shop, a job he was well suited for. In civilian life this had been his trade having worked for Curtiss Wriqht in Buffalo, NY. During their time on Guam, Sebastian and his fellow workers (15 or more) patched thousands of flak ho1es and made other repairs to the skin of the aircraft.

Thomas left the States on December 1944 an the USS Fred C. Ainsworth and spent Christmas and New Year's Eve on the sea before arrival at "Duva" (code name for Guam).

He came back to the States one year later (December 1945) aboard the USS Montrose.
