Vic Durrance 1944
Victor was born in Manatee, Florida on November 27, 1925. One of Seven children, his six siblings, all deceased. 

He graduated from Sarasota High School Sarasota, Florida. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1943-1946. He was discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Participated in Air Offensive against Japan. Some decorations include: Purple Heart, Soldiers' Medal, Air Medal, Two Distinguished Unit Citations, Asatic-Pacific Ribbon with battle star. 

He obtained his B.S. at Florida Southern College; his M.S., Fort Hays State University, and his Ed.D. at George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. Professor Emeritus the Texas Woman's University. 

Victor is retired and currently living in Beggs, Oklahoma with wife Dorothy Corn Durrance. He has five Children, one deceased and 11 grandchildren. 

Interests and activities: photography, corresponding with friends, target shooting, writing, cooking, traveling, visiting museums and historical sites. Some of his writings include a book of poetry, three books on Florida, covering family activities and boyhood. Presently working on fourth book. He has also written and published a number of articles on military history, specifically accounts of Air Force experiences 

He attends Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Tulsa Oklahoma

Dr. Victor Rodney Durrance took his final flight on 18 April 2013. He was laid to rest with military honors on 24 April 2013 at Old Miakka Cemetery, Sarasota, FL.
