| Being 
                          discharged in 1946, I returned to work at Chicago and 
                          Southern Air Lines as an mechanic.  I 
                          joined the Tennessee National Guard and was classified 
                          as an Armour and later as Crew Chief on P-51's. The 
                          unit was called up in April 1951, the 155 TAC RECON. 
                          We were shipped to Shaw Field, SC and updated to F-80's. 
                          I was discharged in 1952 and returned to work at the 
                          airline. Chicago 
                          and Southern merged with Delta Airlines in 1943 and 
                          I was transferred to Atlanta, GA. Worked in various 
                          departments finishing up as Foreman, Engine Shop Quality 
                          Control. Retiring in 1989 from Delta Airlines after 
                          46 years of service. I was married to my wife, Doris for 53 years, until her passing in May 2012, we have three children and 
                          six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. |
