Edward Foreman Kornblith was born July 4, 1920 in Chicago and grew up in Winnetka, IL; He was a long time resident of Glencoe, IL and Green Lake, WI. as well as a part-time resident in Sarasota, FL.
In 1942, he graduated with a degree in Political Science from Wesleyan University in Middleton, CT; He enlisted into the Army Air Corps April 3, 1942 entering from Middleton. He served as Bombsight Mechanic in the 60th Squadron.
In 1947 he married Elizabeth Felsenthal. They were married for 62yrs until her death on June 9, 2009. They have 2 children, Anne and Sally; 2 Grandchildren.
Ed worked for the Eliel & Loeb Company in Chicago and was the co-owner and manager of The Book Mark in Hubbard Woods for fifteen years with his wife.
A lifelong reader, Ed retained a keen interest in American history and government. He enjoyed tennis and was an avid Chicago baseball fan. He was an active community volunteer in both Sarasota and Green Lake. Ed is known amongst his family and friends for his intelligence, wit, genial nature, and kindness.
