He was born in July, 1907 in Texas, and was living in Oklahoma with my grandmother Viola Collins.

While Tom was in Guam with the group, she gave birth to their first child, a daughter, whom she named Thomas Elizabeth in his honor (later shortened to Tommi). Tommi, my aunt, passed away earlier this year from cancer.

My mother Judith was their youngest daughter, born just after Tom returned from his tour in Korea.

He died suddenly in June of 1976 at the age of 69.
