Marshall
Austin Goldston, Jr. was born 16 September 1919 in
Concord, North Carolina.
He
was inducted 14 February 1942 at Ft Bragg, NC at
the age of 22.

1944
Qualified
for Marksman Carbine 30 caliber 28 July 1944
Marshall and his crew departed the stated 22 April
1945; He flew 23 combat missions; achieving the
rank of Master Sergeant on 1 August 1945. Returning
to the states 14 October 1945.
He
discharged from the service on 22 December 1945
at the rank of Flight Officer.
During
his service he earned The Distinguished Flying Cross;
Air Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters; Good Conduct
Medal; American Theater Ribbon; Asiatic-Pacific
Ribbon with 3 battle stars (for service in the Air
Offensive of Japan, Western Pacific and the Eastern
Mandates) and the WWII Victory Medal.
According
to his discharge papers his civilian occupation
at the time of his entry into the service was as
a supply man.
