1st Lt Glen C. Durkin

WWII Enlistment Records show that Glen C. Durkin's county and state of residence was Monroe, NY. His date of enlistment: 12 May 1943, in Rochester, NY.

In 1950, he earned his degree in education from the University of Rochester and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Glen and Joan, his wife of 56 years have three children - two son, Tim and Mark; one daughter, Susan and four grandchildren. Education was extremely important to him and and he impressed that upon his children as they were growing up - all three graduating from college their careers science and math related.

In 1952, he startd working for Eastman Kodak Company - for most of his more than over thirty year career he was Director of Business and Technical Employment. He took great pride in finding and hiring good people. He was a hard worker and expected the same of those worked for him.

Glen and his family vacationed in the Adirondack Mountains. He loved fishing and pheasant hunting. They frequently went on long hikes through Durand Eastman Park. He enjoyed boating and sailing on Irondequoit Bay, Lake Ontario and Fouth Lake.


Glen C. Durkin took his Final Flight 30 May 2006; His Memorial Service was 1 June 2006; Interment: Irondequoit Cemetary
