Update

02 Sept 2015:
Received an email from the cousin of Lt. Col. Richard B. Vogenitz, USAF (Ret), notifying us that has taken his Final Flight.

09 July 2006:
Received call from Lt. Col. Richard B. Vogenitz, USAF (Ret), that his Airplane Comander, Capt Gordon A. Anderson had taken his Final Flight.

29 August 2003:
Met with Milton Cummings, bombardier - A very special thanks to Tracy Clark who contacted the web site and identified "Uncle Milt" in the above crew photo and thru her and her husband, Army Capt Tim Clark, Asst Professor of Military Science Georgia State University. The Clarks arranged the meeting so we could met Milton in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. As a result of this meeting not only have the men of Crew 24 been identified in the crew photo but the crew honor roll has been updated; crew missions have been added and POC are forthcomming for other surviving members of Crew 24. Tracy noted that her father and Milton are best friends and because of that tie and the Captain Clark's willingness to aid in gathering Veteran's experiences for the Library of Congress Veteran's History Project the reason this meeting was made possible. 08 July 2002:

Contact has been established with John Gerbig, Jr., who will be sending information on his crew. One of the things he shared was that their FE had passed away. Gerbig told us the name of this crew's B-29 was nicknamed "Liberty Belle II" named after the B-24 Capt Anderson's brother flew (see above). He has provided leads on contacts with other members of the crew - please check back.
If anyone with information on Crew 24, please contact the updates@39th.org
