James L. Taylor and his soon-to-be wife, Martha "Monty" B. Katterjohn in June 1943 in Albuquerque, New Mexico while he was a flight instructor. After a 30-day whirlwind courtship they were married on July 31, 1943 at First Baptist Church in Albuquerque.
James made the Air Force his career, in 1959 he was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ.
In 1968, he retired returning to Arizona living in Yuma, Holbrook, San Manuel and ShowLow beofre settling in Tucson in 1979.
They loved to travel; most memoriable were their wedding anniversary trips - New York and dinner at the World Trade Center, Hawaii for their 48th and to Alaska for their 50th Wedding Anniversary.
They were married 58 years; They have one daughter Lisa, a granddaughter Kelly and great granddaughter, Mackenzie.
