Herman
was born to George Hagen, Sr. and Clara (Carlson) at
Grand Forks on February 25, 1921; One of 8 children
(5 boys and 3 girls).
He
attended school in Grand Forks. He was an automobile
mechanic, working at Wilcox and Malm and Rydell Chevrolet.
On
his retirement, he went back to Rydells and worked as
a dealer trade driver for 18 years, retiring in 1998.
He
entered the US Army Air Force on October 20, 1942, and
was discharged on December 22, 1945.
Herman
married Florence Michaels in 1942 at Devils Lake, North
Dakota. He married Elayne Axtell on August 20, 1949
at Grand Forks.
He
has 1 daughter, Sandra and 2 sons Michael and Jace;
2 grandchildren and 2 Great-granddaughters.
The
loves of his life were his family, the great outdoors,
hunting, fishing, and reading. He was a great story and
joke teller. He loved company, and reminiscing on the
good old days with family and friends. |
