My
dad left the PTO and went back to resume his education
at West Virginia University.
He
was recalled for Korea and flew A-26's for the 452nd
BG out of K-9.
He
briefly owned an air conditioning company and then
took a job with Union Carbide.
In
1968 he took a job as vice-president of Inland Oil
and Transport Company of St. Louis, Missouri; a barge
line operating on the inland waterways.
He retired and changed gears becoming a professor
at St. Louis University. He taught at Parks College,
an aviation school. In 1996 he retired again and moved
to North Carolina, since that time he has stayed busy
tending to his wife of 50 years, Colleen, and several
grandchildren from four children.
Hiis son Patrick adds, "My dad is suffering from congestive
heart failure but is home and has the constant support
of his family and friends. While my father's health
is failing he still remembers with pride his service
in Guam."
